The Emergency Housing Assistance Fund supports single-parent students in Yolo County, California who are not residents of The Huddle on 5th. Eligible students may apply for up to $1,000 to support housing-related expenses, such as eviction, foreclosure, loss of utilities, and other housing emergencies. The goal of this fund is to provide temporary relief for single-parent students facing urgent housing challenges, helping them bridge short-term gaps while they seek longer-term solutions, including potential residency at The Huddle on 5th.

Who can apply?

Single parents currently attending a college or trade/tech program in Yolo County and Sacramento County may apply for this grant. Current residents at The Huddle on 5th are NOT eligible to apply. Emergency Housing Assistance FAQs

  • Up to $1,000 per eligible applicant.

  • Yes, but repeat recipients must wait 12 months, and denied applicants must wait 6 months before reapplying.

  • Funds will be disbursed directly to the applicant.

  • Proof of use is required. Failure to provide this may result in loss of eligibility for future RTB grants.

  • No, scholars must remain enrolled in an academic institution in California or Minnesota.

  • Yes. We can reimburse eligible housing expenses paid within the past 30 days, as well as support current and urgent needs.

  • No. All grants are subject to eligibility, documentation review, and available funding.
