Under Review is our biannual fundraising event held in the Twin Cities each summer and Los Angeles each fall.

On October 24th, we will host a Red Carpet Affair at Ovation Square in Long Beach, CA. Dress in your Hollywood best and enjoy local wines, delicious food pairings, and a short-film screening of Raising Up: Housing.
Minnesota
This summer, Under Review Twin Cities took place at The 1893 at The Historic Grain Belt Office in Minneapolis, where our guests enjoyed an ice cream bar, pairings of award-winning spirits and culinary delights, a tarot card reader, a fashion sketch artist, all to support our mission of tackling poverty two generations at a time!
About “Perfect Pairing”
Through our Perfect Pairing campaign at Under Review Twin Cities 2024, we celebrated stories of love, strength, and resilience that represent RTB’s values of civic engagement, commitment to education, and devotion to family.
This year, our inaugural pairing included Chanda Smith Baker and Malik Rucker.
Last July at Under Review MN Chanda and Malik were recognized for their deep devotion to family, education, and community. Malik Rucker and his mother Chanda Smith Baker embody Raise The Barr’s core values. Malik reflects on being a child when his mom was attending university classes at St. Cloud, “She would put me and my siblings in the car and drive up to St. Cloud where she was in school. We’d color or keep ourselves busy as we waited for her class to end and then we’d get back in the car and drive back to the city. It left an impression on me, watching my mom grind.” Chanda’s commitment to her future self is a blueprint for RTB scholars, and more broadly speaking, employers today. Invest in families of all types so they can reach their fullest potential in the boardroom, in the community, and at home. When asked how she feels about Malik’s success, Chanda shared, “Malik is doing well, but he isn’t done yet.” Great things lie ahead for RTB’s inaugural Perfect Pairing because you laid the foundation Chanda. Today, we celebrate you and your son! Cheers.
